What is pitch day?!

Basically it’s a chance to get your idea turned into a real project!

Pitch day is our democratic way of choosing projects. Everyone has the opportunity to propose an idea, and the ideas with the most votes will be green lit! All you need for a pitch is an idea and a verbal presentation with a short slideshow (max 4 slides) to sell it to the rest of the group. You must be present in person on pitch day to propose an idea (but you can always have someone pitch on your behalf). After all ideas are proposed, we'll put it to a vote. May the best ideas win!

Pitches can be a variety of types of projects; you can pitch a project without a script and work with other writers to create one. Or, if you already have a script, you can pitch it and start filming. Projects have as much flexibility and creativity as you want, so don’t be afraid to share your ideas no matter what stage they're in right now!

Next Pitch Night will be late January 2025 in Bruininks room TBA. Full pitch guidelines can be found here. The pitch form will be posted and sent out in our newsletter. If you would like help with your pitch please email studioU@umn.edu.
